Job Summary:

One of our Govt . Client is seeking a highly qualified Spanish Certified Court Interpreter to provide professional oral interpretation and written translation services. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate, clear, and complete translation of legal proceedings, documents, and communications for Spanish-speaking parties involved in OAH proceedings. This position may be performed on-site at OAH in Washington, DC, or remotely, as required.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide simultaneous and consecutive Spanish language interpretation during legal proceedings, ensuring accurate communication between parties.
Perform written translation of various legal documents, such as judgments, hearing notifications, orders, and other official communications.
Interpret with a high level of proficiency, ensuring accuracy, fluency, and the ability to capture the tone and context of both English and Spanish speakers.
Demonstrate expertise in specialized legal, health, and social service system terminologies.
Respond to on-site interpretation requests at OAH’s secure facilities within 30 minutes of notification.
Collaborate with OAH staff to ensure seamless access to meeting and hearing rooms, as necessary.

Qualifications:

Court-certified interpreter, recognized by one or more of the following:
Federal or State Court Certification.
Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) – relevant for American Sign Language Interpreters.
Federal Court Interpreter Certification Examination (FCICE) for Spanish.
National Association of Judiciary Interpreters and Translators (NAJIT) certification.
Certification from the National Center for State Courts (NCSC).
Fluent in English and Spanish, including regional colloquialisms and specialized vocabulary in legal, health, social service, and educational contexts.
Proven experience in both oral interpretation and written translation, with the ability to provide factually and conceptually accurate interpretations.
Knowledgeable of cultural nuances and the ability to adjust the tone and pace of delivery while interpreting.
Ability to work in a high-pressure legal environment and meet strict deadlines

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $70.00 per hour
