Purpose of Position The purpose of this position is to enhance communication with those who have limited English proficiency; schedule qualified interpreters to perform language assistance functions; facilitate informal communication for individuals that are not proficient with the English language; provide quality assurance for all interpreter services; oversee the monthly financial activities related to interpreter services, including reconciliation of invoices and preparing financial reports; and provide access to justice. Essential Job Functions & Competencies Fosters an inclusive and culturally competent work environment; Maintains effective lines of communication with all staff and stakeholders; Promotes and adheres to departmental policies and procedures; Serves as a liaison to the public to address communication needs of those who are limited English proficient; Utilizing professional interpreting experience and related interpreter quality assessment expertise, functions as a subject matter expert in evaluating and monitoring the components of quality interpretation; Schedules all Court-appointed interpreters to perform language assistance functions for the Court to include Adult Probation, not limited to, office visits and/or access to other Court related functions; Communicates with vendor representatives for interpreter services; Obtains quotes and places orders for interpreter services; Maintains a perpetually updated contact list of qualified interpreters; Tracks utilization of qualified interpreters; Outlines measures to ensure quality control of interpreters; Responds to interpreter-related inquiries by Court staff and attorneys; Creates and maintains various statistical and trend analysis related to interpreter services; Reconciles monthly invoices for interpreter services, determines accuracy prior to payment processing; Processes interpreter payments through the Franklin County Auditor; Maintain the internal Interpreter Database Alerts Director of Finance of price/contractual changes and any expenditures that differ from projected costs as defined in the purchase schedules; Serves as a member of the Court's Finance Department; and Performs other related duties as required. The aforementioned duties are normal for this position.

Ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, but which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (5-10 pounds). Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation. Essential functions are regularly performed without exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
