Speech LanguagePathologist Responsibilities

Prepare engaging exercises and activities to use during speech sessions with patients
Provide counseling and consultations for new patients
Work with SLP team and Registered Dieticians to determine safe diet
Create goals and objectives for patients to work toward and identify areas of progress and challenges
Prepare speech pathology equipment and exam room ensuring proper sterilization and safety procedures are followed
Attend continuing education courses and work to advance personal knowledge and experience within the field
Request and organize written authorization from patients involving specific follow-up instructions and goals for improvement
Treat residents according to a treatment plan approved by the attending physician
Communicate with Supervisor and other health team members regarding resident progress, problems, and plans
Record clinical documentation according to the accepted regulatory, facility, and professional guidelines; this includes daily notes, weekly progress notes, and monthly recertification documents

Speech LanguagePathologist Requirements

NYS License
Master's degree in speech-language pathology
COVID-19 Vaccination

Preferred

Proficiency in Optima HCS
