Position: Pediatric Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA)

Location: Recess Pediatric Therapy, San Gabriel Valley to Greater Los Angeles Area

Employment Type: Full-Time / Part-Time (minimum 18 hours per week)

Key Responsibilities:

Assist Speech Language Pathologists (SLPs) in conducting thorough evaluations to assess the speech and language therapy needs of pediatric clients.
Implement individualized treatment plans developed by the SLPs based on assessment results and the unique needs of each child.
Provide direct speech and language therapy services under the supervision of SLPs, including interventions to enhance communication skills, speech production, language comprehension, and social communication.
Collaborate with families, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care and effective treatment outcomes.
Monitor and document progress towards therapy goals, reporting adjustments needed to the supervising SLP.
Educate families and caregivers on therapeutic techniques and strategies to support the child’s communication development at home.
Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and continuing education opportunities to stay current with best practices in pediatric speech and language therapy.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services provided in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards.

Qualifications:

Associate’s degree in Speech Language Pathology Assisting or a related field from an accredited program.
Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Speech Language Pathology Assistant in the state of California.
Experience working with pediatric populations in a clinical setting is preferred.
Knowledge of speech and language development, articulation disorders, phonological disorders, and other relevant therapy techniques.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with children, families, and team members.
Ability to work independently and manage a caseload efficiently.
Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with research and best practices in pediatric speech and language therapy.
