1. About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Sportsbook Manager with deep expertise in the Brazilian and LATAM iGaming industry. This individual will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end sportsbook operation, from building the product and managing payments to ensuring regulatory compliance and driving sustainable business growth. The ideal candidate must have a strategic mindset, strong analytical skills, and a deep understanding of the regional sports betting market.
This is a critical leadership role where you will develop, implement, and optimize our sportsbook offering while ensuring an exceptional user experience, strong market positioning, and operational excellence.
2. Key Responsibilities
2.1 Sportsbook Strategy & Product Development
- Lead the development of the sportsbook business from 0 to 1, including market analysis, platform selection, and integration of betting providers.
- Define betting markets, odds strategies, risk management policies, and competitive pricing structures tailored to the Brazilian and LATAM market.
- Work closely with product and tech teams to ensure a seamless sportsbook experience across web and mobile platforms.
- Identify key sports, leagues, and betting types that resonate with the region’s audience, ensuring localized and culturally relevant offerings.
2.2 Operations & Risk Management
- Oversee the daily sportsbook trading operations, ensuring optimal bet limits, payout ratios, and risk controls.
- Implement fraud prevention and responsible gaming measures to ensure compliance with Brazilian and LATAM regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with customer support and risk teams to monitor suspicious betting patterns and optimize dispute resolution processes.
2.3 Payments & Financial Management
- Ensure smooth payment processing, working with local payment providers to enable efficient deposits, withdrawals, and pay-ins.
- Optimize payment acceptance rates and manage transaction costs by partnering with banks, fintech solutions, and PSPs in the region.
- Monitor fraud risks, chargebacks, and AML compliance, working closely with finance and compliance teams.
2.4 Marketing & Growth Strategy
- Develop and execute customer acquisition, retention, and loyalty strategies specific to the Brazilian and LATAM markets.
- Collaborate with the marketing, CRM, and affiliate teams to launch targeted promotions, bonus campaigns, and sponsorship initiatives.
- Drive brand positioning and localization strategies, ensuring our sportsbook resonates with local sports fans and bettors.
- Leverage data analytics and customer insights to optimize user engagement, betting behaviors, and LTV (lifetime value).
2.5 Compliance & Regulatory Oversight
- Ensure full compliance with Brazilian sports betting regulations and stay ahead of evolving LATAM regulatory landscapes.
- Work with legal and compliance teams to implement robust KYC (Know Your Customer) and AML (Anti-Money Laundering) procedures.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities and licensing bodies, ensuring all sportsbook operations meet industry standards.
3. Qualifications & Requirements
Must-Have Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in sportsbook operations within the Brazilian and/or LATAM iGaming market.
- Strong knowledge of sports betting markets, odds compilation, and trading strategies.
- Proven experience in building and scaling sportsbook operations from 0 to 1, including product launch, market entry, and financial optimization.
- Deep understanding of local payment methods, regulatory frameworks, and industry trends.
- Experience with customer acquisition, retention, and marketing strategies specific to LATAM audiences.
- Knowledge of risk management, fraud prevention, and AML/KYC requirements in sports betting.
- Excellent analytical, leadership, and project management skills.
- Fluency in Portuguese and English (Spanish is a plus).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with tier-1 sportsbook providers (e.g., Kambi, SBTech, BtoBet, Altenar).
- Strong network within Brazilian sports federations, payment providers, and affiliate networks.
- Familiarity with CRM tools, analytics platforms, and customer segmentation models.
- Understanding of blockchain, cryptocurrency payments, and digital wallet integrations in LATAM markets.
