Your New Role:
The transcriber is responsible for fulfilling scripting requirements to ensure technical & literal accuracy, innovation and timely delivery in localization lifecycles of WBD features and high-quality episodic content. They will bring advanced knowledge of drafting, editing, formatting, and finishing scripting/accessibility materials for localization. They will be adept at using digital tools to assist, validate, and review scripting deliverables. They will be highly aware of cultural, creative, and technical contexts in the localization world, especially in regard to scripting.
Responsibilities:
The transcriber is part of a highly functioning team adapting to a fast-changing industry with new technologies. They will be expected to provide periodic feedback on toolsets, contribute ideas for innovation, share thoughts for process improvement, and implement change.
Creation of English transcription deliverables such as Spotting list, English Dialogue list, CCAP (Closed Captions), English SDH (Subtitles Deaf and Hard of Hearing) and
Utilize in-house tooling to create transcripts for various content, including but not limited to high profile pre-release content, current season, and catalog content.
Responsible for creation of English closed captions, SDH, English templates, spotting list and dialogue list scripts.
Ensure comprehensive & accurate capturing of required events in each script deliverable that can include but is not limited to: annotation, on screen text, sensitive event, on/off screen, scene description, etc.
Performs final review of transcription to confirm material is free of grammatical, spelling, formatting, and punctuation errors, ensuring proper positioning as appropriate.
Must be punctual, dependable, and flexible, and possess a team attitude and willingness to adapt to last-minute changes to programming and industry.

Qualifications & Experiences:
Minimum 5 years' experience in scripting, transcription, captioning, accessibility, timed text, or related field.
Knowledge, Skills & Other Requirements:
Excellent command of English is necessary, including understanding of grammar, idiomatic expressions, cultural references, homonyms, proper names, and slang.
Understanding of scripting requirements in the localization world (e.g., SDH, dialogue list, spotting list, sensitive events list, line count document, etc)
Attention to detail is crucial for noting various aspects of transcription including, but not limited to, the spoken word, audio cues, sound effects, and tone that need to be provided to viewers and end clients
Proficiency in project management, instant messaging, and productivity programs (i.e. Excel, Word, Slack)
Education, Training or Certification
College preferred (but not essential), with emphasis on language studies, film or TV, communications or equivalent work experience.

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery’s total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $76,935.00 - $142,879.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
