Spanish Curriculum Translation Manager
SUMMARY:
As a Spanish Curriculum Translation Manager at Accelerate Learning, Inc., you will oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of translation projects that adapt our K–12 English-language math and science curriculum into Spanish. This role requires strong organizational skills, cross-functional coordination, and effective contractor management to ensure high-quality, accurate, and timely delivery of Spanish-language content. You’ll work closely with the Print Production, Curriculum Development, and Curriculum Production teams to manage translation workflows and uphold language quality standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Lead end-to-end project management of Spanish translation initiatives, from initial planning to final publication.
• Create and maintain project plans, timelines, and task trackers for multiple, concurrent translation projects.
• Source, onboard, and manage external translators, editors, and proofreaders; ensure deliverables meet defined standards and timelines.
• Coordinate cross-functional collaboration across Curriculum Development, Curriculum Production, and other internal teams to align on project goals and requirements.
• Review translation output for alignment with academic and linguistic standards, including Real Academia Española conventions.
• Implement and track revisions based on customer and internal feedback to continuously improve translation quality. • Utilize project management tools to monitor workflow progress, manage risks, and resolve real-time issues.
• Oversee proofreading and quality control processes before publication and customer delivery.
• Leverage AI tools to streamline translation workflows, improve accuracy, and enhance quality control processes.
• Communicate proactively with stakeholders to provide status updates, clarify requirements, and address project needs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• 3–5 years of project management experience, preferably in education, publishing, or localization.
• Proven success managing vendors or contractors across multiple simultaneous projects.
• Native or near-native fluency in Spanish with strong knowledge of bilingual education practices.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish.
• Highly organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with overlapping timelines in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience using project management software and productivity tools such as Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Acrobat.
• Familiarity with AI-powered tools for language processing, translation, or workflow automation is a strong plus.
• Experience with Adobe InDesign is a plus.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in education or related field. Masters degree preferred. At least 3 years of teaching experience required. 5 years preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Physical demands of the position will include mobility throughout the day; lifting, reaching, and carrying materials associated with the preparation, distribution, demonstration, use and maintenance of various materials and equipment for lessons, events, and showcases.
Occasionally, more rigorous activity associated with field experiences or other program activities.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required during evenings and weekend hours. Must be able to travel in and outside of Houston, TX for conferences, events, showcases and trainings.
