An exciting opportunity is available for a dedicated and skilled Sign Language Interpreter to support elementary school students in a vibrant educational setting. This role is essential in facilitating effective munication between hearing-impaired students and their peers, ensuring an inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide accurate and timely interpretation for 2nd and 3rd-grade students during scheduled classes and school activities.
- Develop a strong rapport with students to encourage participation and enhance their learning experience.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism while working with sensitive student information.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and acmodate diverse learning needs.
- Assist in the assessment and evaluation of students munication skills and progress.
- Stay updated on best practices and developments in sign language interpretation and educational methods.
Qualifications:
- Valid certification as a Sign Language Interpreter.
- Previous experience working with elementary school students, preferably in an educational setting.
- Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) and knowledgeable about deaf culture.
- Strong interpersonal and munication skills to effectively interact with students, staff, and families.
- Ability to work patiently and adaptively in a dynamic classroom environment.
