Position Overview: MOT Charter is a small school on a mission to provide a high quality learning experience for our students. GENERAL performance expectations - Understand and support the mission and vision of the MOT Charter School.

- Utilize online resources for instruction and communication.

- Work cooperatively with other faculty, staff, and administrators to support the school's objectives.

- Develop and maintain positive relations within the school community, as well as with stakeholders outside the school community.
SPECIFIC performance expectations - Proficient in High School reading and language arts standards and knowledgeable regarding how to align curriculum to the standards.
- In collaboration with administrators and teachers, augment course content to meet student needs and achieve MOT Charter School's academic goals.
- Be conversant in the learning standards from other disciplines to enhance cross content integration.
- Orient students to their course, communicate requirements, and maintain accessibility to students.
- Conduct instruction using problem-solving and integration to the extent possible with other coursework.
- Take ownership for students' academic progress and attendance.
- Communicate high expectations and show an active interest in student achievement.
- Establish and maintain a positive rapport with families.
- Conduct conferences with students and parents/guardians.
- Provide opportunities for individualized instruction to help each students achieve MOT Charter School curricular objectives.
- Alert appropriate staff to concerns about student performance and progress.
Minimum Required Qualifications - 2 years of teaching experience at the high school level and/or a Master's degree in English, Literature, teaching or a related field
- Equivalent combination of education and experience in a relevant field
Other Required Skills & Abilities - Strong written/verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment
- Proficient in Google Suite, Microsoft Office and in the use of a student information system.
- Ability to quickly learn new technologies and tools
