Schedule: MondayFriday, 8:30 AM 3:30 PM (35 hours/week)
Position Type: Full-Time, On-Site
Travel: Non-itinerant; the interpreter will acpany one student throughout the school day
Caseload: 1:1 with a 10-year-old 5th grade student
Job Description:
We are seeking a qualified and dependable Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) to provide full-time, one-on-one support for a 5th-grade student during the 20252026 school year. This is an on-site position requiring in-person support throughout the school day. The interpreter will travel with the student to all classes and activities within the school setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide accurate and effective interpretation between spoken English and American Sign Language (ASL)
Facilitate munication between the student, teachers, and peers in academic and non-academic settings
Ensure full access to curriculum and classroom activities
Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and school administration
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards of educational interpreting
Qualifications:
Certification or licensure as required by the state for educational interpreters
Proficiency in American Sign Language and knowledge of educational terminology
Prior experience in a K12 school setting preferred
Strong interpersonal, munication, and collaboration skills
Ability to remain professional, flexible, and student-focused throughout the school day
