A K-12 school in the Elgin, IL area is seeking a skilled Sign Language Interpreter for an uping academic year contract position, serving surrounding munities including Burlington, IL. This role is essential for supporting students who rely on American Sign Language (ASL) to access their education effectively.
This contract runs from August 4, 2025, through June 6, 2026, with a work schedule averaging 32.5 to 35 hours per week, aligned with the school calendar. The position requires in-person attendance to ensure the highest quality of munication support within the classroom setting. Caseload assignments will be shared upon hire.
Qualified candidates should meet the following criteria:
- Hold or be eligible for Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) approval as a Sign Language Interpreter
- Possess a minimum EIPA (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment) rating of 3.0 or higher; temporary approval is possible for qualifying applicants
- Demonstrate proficiency in American Sign Language and knowledge of educational interpreting techniques

- Ability to mit to an in-person schedule and adapt to a flexible caseload
