Position Overview
This remote interpreting role involves delivering prehensive sign language interpretation services for students participating in virtual educational programs. You'll work with advanced educational technology to facilitate clear munication and ensure educational accessibility across various academic disciplines and grade levels.
Time mitment: 35-37.5 hours per week Student Population: 22-32 students in virtual classroom settings Academic Levels: Pre-K through 12th grade with focus on high school Platform: Professional virtual interpretation technology with secure educational access
Key Responsibilities
- Provide real-time sign language interpretation during virtual educational sessions
- Ensure student understanding and engagement in online learning activities
- Modify interpretation approach based on student age groups and academic content plexity
- Work collaboratively with virtual classroom teachers to maximize learning accessibility
- Document interpretation services and municate relevant student needs to educational teams
- Contribute to IEP development and review processes through virtual meeting participation
- Advocate for student munication needs within the virtual learning framework
Essential Qualifications
- EIPA Score: 3.5 minimum certification required
- School-Based Experience: Minimum 2 years in educational interpreting roles
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with virtual platforms and educational software applications
- Professional Development: mitment to ongoing skill enhancement and best practices
- Flexibility: Ability to adapt to various educational settings and student populations
Preferred Qualifications
- EIPA score of 4.0 or above
- Written EIPA certification
- RID/NIC certification including written examination
- Experience with remote interpretation services
- Knowledge of educational terminology and curriculum standards
