Job description
We are seeking experienced Chuukese interpreters to join our team. As a Chuukese interpreter, you will work closely with doctors and other healthcare providers to facilitate clear and accurate communication with Chuukese speaking patients. Your role is crucial in ensuring that patients receive the best possible care by overcoming communication barriers.
Responsibilities
- Provide accurate and clear Chuukese interpretation during medical consultations, treatments, and other healthcare services.
- Assist doctors and healthcare providers in understanding patient's symptoms, medical histories, and concerns.
- Ensure patient understanding of medical instructions, procedures, and treatments.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
- Collaborate with medical staff to improve patient care and satisfaction.
Requirements
- 3 years of experience on Medical Chuukese Interpreting (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and concepts.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Medical Interpreter Certification of 40 or 60 hours, NBCMI or CCHI (preferred)
- Flexible availability to meet the needs of healthcare providers and patients.
