Based at Fishburners at NSW Tech Central Innovation Hub, Sydney, we design and deliver medical and healthcare e-learning programs for global organisations. Our work blends AI-enabled content development, instructional design, and expert medical review to create high-impact learning experiences.
⭐ The Opportunity
We are hiring two part-time student assistants to support the translation and localisation of medical e-learning modules from English into:
- French (native speaker required)
- Spanish (native speaker required)
AI tools will produce the initial translations, and your focus will be on post-editing, linguistic accuracy, terminology quality and ensuring cultural relevance.
➡️ Approx. 200 total hours per language, delivered over 8–10 weeks at 15–25 hrs/week.
Important requirement:
A valid visa with working rights in Australia is mandatory.
🔧 Key Responsibilities
- Review and refine AI-assisted translations (post-editing)
- Ensure correct medical terminology, tone, spelling, grammar, and localisation
- Interpret the tone and intent of the original English source content
- Work within our course creation platform Articulate Rise and version control workflows
- Collaborate with project leads and subject matter experts
- Conduct quality checks in a medical device regulated environment on final content before release
✅ Requirements
- Native fluency in French OR Spanish (one student will be selected per language)
- Strong English language comprehension and reading skills
- Studies or background in:
- Healthcare / nursing / pharmacy / medical sciences, OR
- Communications / linguistics / translation / localisation
· Strong organizational skills for handling multiple localization tasks efficiently as well as attention to detail
· Applicants must be comfortable working with medical content, including videos and images that depict clinical or graphic medical detail.
Beneficial:
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite
- Video editing skills for adapting small multimedia components
- Familiarity with Canva and basic graphic layout for e-learning assets

🕒 Project Details
- Total workload: ~200 hours per language
- Duration: 8–10 weeks
- Weekly hours: 15–20 hrs/week (flexible around study schedules)
- Start date: ASAP
- Work mode: Hybrid — mix of remote work and on-site collaboration at 477 Pitt Street
