Position Summary

As language translators in the sky, Airborne Cryptologic Linguist personnel constantly monitor the radio frequency spectrum and translate, evaluate and report on messages and other in-flight intelligence received in foreign languages.

Primary Responsibilities

Process, exploit, analyze and disseminate signal intelligence information
Operate airborne signals intelligence systems and mission equipment
Translate, evaluate and report on assigned communications
Analyze traffic for reportable significance
Receive, transmit and relay encoded and decoded messages

Qualifications

This job requires military service with a contract as a commissioned officer in the Air Force. The application is for a specific position within the Air Force.

To be considered you must meet the following requirements:

High school diploma or GED.
Physical qualification for aircrew duty
Height not less than 59 inches or more than 77 inches
No record or history of temporomandibular joint disorder (TMJ) or pain
ASVAB score of 72 on General
Minimum score of 110 on Defense Language Aptitude Battery or demonstrated proficiency in a DoD-trained designated acquisition language with an L2/R2 or better on the Defense Language Proficiency Test or Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI) equivalent for which accession was approved by AF Career Field Manager.
Eligibility for a Top Secret security clearance

Training:

Candidates without prior military experience are required to attend 7.5 weeks of Basic Military Training (BMT) at JB San Antonio-Lackland, TX; followed by Technical
