Pay Per Session - $25 - $40/hr on 1099
Position Summary:
24/7 DCT, in partnership with Noor Talents Staffing, is seeking a compassionate and professional Interpreter to support therapy sessions for clients across our behavioral health programs. The interpreter will play a vital role in ensuring effective communication between therapists, clients, and families during telehealth sessions—bridging language and cultural barriers while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide accurate and professional interpretation during individual, family, or group therapy sessions.
- Interpret between English and the client’s preferred language (spoken or signed), ensuring clarity and neutrality.
- Maintain professionalism, impartiality, and cultural sensitivity throughout all interactions.
- Uphold strict confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA and 24/7 DCT’s policies.
- Support clients and therapists in understanding cultural nuances that may impact communication.
- Translate short written materials when necessary (e.g., instructions, follow-up notes).
- Report any interpretation challenges or ethical concerns to the supervising clinician or manager.
- Attend scheduled team meetings or training sessions when required.
Qualifications:
- Fluency in English and at least one other language (e.g., Spanish, Tagalog, Arabic, Mandarin, etc.).
- Prior experience interpreting in a mental health, therapy, or medical setting preferred.
- Certification in interpreting (CCHI, NBCMI, or equivalent) is a plus but not mandatory.
- Strong interpersonal and listening skills with the ability to remain neutral and professional.
- Familiarity with mental health terminology and telehealth platforms is preferred.
- Must comply with all confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.
Work Schedule & Requirements:
- Flexible schedule based on client and therapist availability.
- Remote position – must have a stable internet connection and a quiet, private work environment.
- May include evening or weekend sessions as per client needs.
Compensation:
- Competitive per-session or hourly rate (based on experience and language proficiency).
- Classified as a 1099 independent contractor (no employee benefits).
