About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Project Manager with a strong linguistic background to manage multilingual projects and lead teams of translators, proofreaders, and other language professionals. The ideal candidate is someone who has worked as a translator or proofreader and later moved into project management within the localization or language services industry.
This role supports projects for clients in the government and healthcare sectors, requiring strong attention to detail and accuracy, as well as the ability to manage complex, compliance-sensitive workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage localization/language projects from kickoff to delivery.
- Coordinate and support teams of linguists (translators, proofreaders, editors, designers, VO artists, etc.).
- Plan timelines, allocate resources, and monitor project progress.
- Communicate with clients regarding project requirements, status updates, and deliverables.
- Ensure quality control processes are followed, and client expectations are met.
- Work with linguist teams in Argentina, Honduras, and other regions as needed.
- Use CAT tools, TMS platforms, and other project management tools in daily work.
- Collaborate on process improvements and the use of AI tools/workflows where appropriate.
Required Qualifications
- 3–7 years of experience as a Project Manager in localization, translation, or language services.
- 3–5 years of prior experience as a linguist (translator or proofreader).
- Experience working with government and/or healthcare clients and understanding the expectations of regulated industries
- Experience managing and coordinating teams of linguists across multiple projects.
- Familiarity with AI tools or AI-assisted workflows in localization (e.g., MT, AI quality tools, automation tools).
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable working remotely with distributed teams.
Nice-to-Have
- Experience working with North American or international clients.
- Previous experience in vendor management or team leadership.
- Familiarity with CAT/TMS tools
- University degree in Translation, Linguistics, Project Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
