Nuance Languages is seeking professional interpreters with proven experience as an ASL interpreter.
Ideally you have a deep work experience and have an RID Certification (or the equivalent)
We will be needing you to provide ASL interpretation for Town Hall Meetings, Medical Exams and HR Meetings (eg. Benefits Enrollment).
The interpreter must:
- Render correct concepts and meanings according to the conventions of established interpretation protocol
- Provide clear and accurate renditions with no additions or omissions
- Employ good customer service and clear enunciation, pronunciation, pleasant and professional voice as well as polite forms of expression
- Follow client’s instructions, manage the flow of the communication and avoid taking over the communication, as well as avoid interaction with the Limited English proficiency speaker without client's permission
- Understand protocol and terminology in the healthcare industry
- Maintain a professional demeanor throughout the assignment at all times
- Have access to the Internet or work related electronic communication
- Provide clarification and cultural brokering using excellent judgment and skill
- Demonstrate commitment to cultural sensitivity and working in a diverse environment'
