Business Development Manager – Language Services (LSP)
Location: Hybrid – U.S.-based, with periodic on-site meetings (cadence flexible)
Employment Type: Part-Time initially (20–25 hours/week), with growth to Full-Time
We are a fast-growing, ISO-certified language services provider supporting clients across government, education, healthcare, and other compliance-driven sectors. Following the award of a major Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) contract, we are expanding our commercial team and seeking an experienced Business Development Manager with direct language services industry experience.
This role is part-time to start, with a clear path to full-time as pipeline and revenue grow. We are specifically looking for someone who understands how language services are bought and sold within regulated environments and who has experience leveraging contract vehicles (such as GPOs, cooperative contracts, or master service agreements) to drive adoption and long-term client relationships.
This is not an entry-level role and not a generic sales position. Industry fluency is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and manage a targeted sales pipeline tied to GPO and contract-driven opportunities
- Activate and convert opportunities enabled by cooperative purchasing agreements
- Identify and engage prospective clients within public-sector and regulated markets
- Lead consultative sales conversations around translation, interpreting, localization, and accessibility services
- Develop long-term client relationships focused on account growth, not transactional deals
- Collaborate with leadership on go-to-market strategy, account prioritization, and pipeline planning
- Maintain accurate tracking of outreach, pipeline, and opportunities
Required Experience
- Prior experience in business development, sales, or account management within a language services provider (LSP)
- Strong understanding of translation, interpreting, localization, and/or accessibility services
- Demonstrated ability to independently prospect, qualify, and advance opportunities
Highly Preferred Experience
- Experience selling through or activating GPOs, cooperative purchasing programs, or contract vehicles
- Familiarity with public-sector, healthcare, education, or other regulated procurement environments
- Experience navigating RFPs, contract compliance, and multi-stakeholder buying processes
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Industry insider who understands LSP sales cycles and procurement-driven buying
- Comfortable opening doors using contract access rather than cold, transactional sales
- Consultative, relationship-driven approach with strong follow-through
- Self-directed and interested in a part-time role with opportunity to scale
