Position Overview
Homeland Language Services is seeking qualified Spanish, Korean, and Arabic Interpreters to provide interpretation services in Probation & Parole offices, correctional facilities, and related legal environments in the Virginia Area (Salem, Fairfax, Beaumont).
This freelance role supports communication between limited-English-proficient individuals and legal or correctional staff in highly sensitive and confidential settings.
Minimum Requirements
Fluency in English and at least one of the following: Spanish, Korean, or Arabic
Experience in legal, community, or correctional interpreting environments
Ability to interpret accurately in sensitive situations
Strong professionalism, discretion, and ethical standards
Authorization to work in the United States
Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)
Prior experience in Probation & Parole or correctional settings
Familiarity with legal terminology
Flexible availability for on-call assignments
Responsibilities
Provide in-person interpretation during interviews, meetings, and proceedings
Facilitate clear and accurate communication between all parties
Maintain strict confidentiality at all times
Follow agency and Homeland Language Services protocols
