Job Description
The Print and Online Documentation Supervisor will support the next stage of our documentation evolution, with a focus on coordination, online‑first publishing, and scalable single‑source content practices. Oversee the creation and publication of mobile web documentation and optimized print literature for pros, homeowners, and sales. Supervise the creation of user, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting content for home comfort, safety, security, and automation products. Work with project teams to define their content strategy and scope. Balance schedules and project goals within the content team and across global product teams so that their work has the greatest impact. Orchestrate the literature team to create a unified content experience that transforms new customers opening the box for the first time into superusers.
JOB DUTIES:
- Partner with teams within the training and documentation organization and across Resideo to ensure content is accurate and meets high standards.
- Balance and track project schedules using kanban boards with approval flows while controlling cost and maintaining quality.
- Ensure templates and taxonomies for online and print documentation meet the requirements of multiple brands
- Maintain compliance with single-sourcing, version control, approval workflows, translation, and other knowledge management best practices using tools like Jira, SharePoint, and Git.
- Move documentation through product lifecycle management (PLM) systems to manufacturing , distribution, and online.
- Coach a global team through their regular one-on-ones, evaluations, and development plans.
- Provide guidance to writers in fundamental technical skills like HTML, CSS, and single-sourcing .
- Mentor writers about skills like information mapping, research, interviewing, audience analysis, visual design, editing, and project management.
- Maintain the documentation repository of project records, digital assets, deliverables, and process documentation.
- Take on at-risk projects or start them and pass them off to others after they are stabilized.
YOU MUST HAVE:
- 10+ years of working experience as a technical writer or content developer in technical documentation, publications, or related field.
- 3+ years of team leadership experience.
- Excellent technical writing and editing skills.
- Proficient project management skills.
- Experience with single-source multi-channel authoring and publishing platforms for creating web, print, and help content.

- Knowledge in HVAC, plumbing, and security systems with technical aptitude and do-it-yourself experience.
- Experience with Oracle for PLM.
- Experience working with remote teams in global organizations.
- Multilingual skills and localization.
- Experience with DITA, DocBook , XSLT, and XML.
