Partnership 4 Kids (P4K) offers Omaha youth a solid foundation for lifelong success, stewarding them through critical academic transitions and preparing them to successfully achieve higher education and financial stability. It is our mission to engage and inspire students from preschool to graduation, guiding them to success with individualized support, career exploration, and scholarships. Partnership 4 Kids operates in 10 different Omaha Public Schools between Middle School and High School.
About The Role
P4K is seeking bilingual college students to support communication with families by providing interpretation and translation services. This role is ideal for students who can carry out conversations in Karen and English and are passionate about supporting their community. Compensation will be provided either as hourly pay and/or through service hour credits toward the P4K scholarship.
Responsibilities
- Conduct phone call interpretation between P4K staff and families
- Relay messages in Karen and English
- Assist with written translation (based on your comfort level)
- Support communication between staff and families
- Track and submit a log of completed translations/interpretations
- Accurately track and report your hours
Qualifications
- Fluency in Karen and English
- Strong communication skills
- Reliable, professional, and organized
- Comfortable speaking with families over the phone
- Basic knowledge of tools such as Canva, Excel, and Word preferred
- No prior professional experience or certifications required
