Full-time translator for Torrington High School.
The schedule is 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday, according to the student school day. Work year is equal to the student school year, (181 days) plus additional days as needed for professional development.
Torrington High School - school hours = 7:20am - 2:20pm. Translation services after regular school hours may be necessary. Hours worked would be compensated as additional pay.
Essential Functions:
- Translate school and district documents as needed;
- Interpret for in-person and virtual meetings, parent-teacher conferences, home-school phone calls;
- Interact in a positive manner with all students, staff and families;
- Respond to questions and requests promptly and appropriately;
- Answer telephone calls and respond to inquiries in a timely manner;
- Maintain respect at all times for confidential information.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing in English and Spanish;
- Ability to listen attentively;
- Ability to perform assigned tasks effectively;
- Ability to schedule and prioritize workflow;
- Proficiency in digital tools (Word, Excel, Google)
Minimum of Associate's Degree preferred.
