The Global Lounge Collection is a key component of our premium offering, providing Card Members with over 1,400 airport lounges worldwide. You will be joining the Digital Lounge Services Product Team, which consists of Product Managers, Product Designers, and Data Analysts.
As the Localization & Content Design Manager, you will lead the creation, translation, and localization of content for the Global Lounge Collection at American Express. You will be the first in this role, responsible for ensuring that our content resonates with diverse markets worldwide. This role involves working with internal and external partners to ensure culturally relevant and high-quality content across various markets, ensuring legal compliance, while maintaining a consistent tone, and generating content that drives our SEO strategy. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in content design, with the ability to adapt content for multiple languages and cultures.
- Translation and Localization: Using tools and partners such as Systran and LanguageLine, lead the process of translating and localizing English content for various international markets, ensuring cultural relevance and linguistic accuracy.
Vendor Management: Manage relationships with external translation and localization vendors, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of services.
Legal Compliance: Collaborate with local market & legal teams to ensure all terms, conditions, and legal content are accurately translated and aligned with local regulations.
Tone and Consistency: Work with our Product Design, Compliance, and Marketing teams to maintain a consistent tone and style across all localized content.
Quality Assurance: Implement and oversee quality assurance processes to ensure high standards of localization.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with Product, Design, Data, and Engineering teams to drive product enhancements tailored to specific markets. This includes addressing technical requirements, providing guidance on standard methodologies, and ensuring that localization is considered in the development process.
Process Improvement: Lead the future of our localization process, exploring and implementing automated localization solutions to increase efficiency and scalability.
- 5+ years of experience in localization and translation management, preferably within the travel or financial services industry.
Bachelor’s degree in Translation, Linguistics, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of cultural nuances and localization best practices.
Excellent project management and organizational skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Knowledge of SEO principles and content optimization techniques.
Familiarity with translation management software and tools.
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality and accuracy.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Creative problem solver with a passion for content and language.
- Content Strategy: Experience developing content strategies that align with business goals and user needs.
Content Creation: Proven ability to create compelling and culturally relevant content to support marketing and communication efforts in various regions.
UX Writing: Experience in UX writing, ensuring content enhances user experience and is easy to understand.
Design Collaboration: Ability to work closely with UX/UI designers to ensure content fits seamlessly into the overall design.
Multilingual Reader and/or Speaker: Proficiency in one or more languages in addition to English.
This is a hybrid role, requiring the candidate to work from our Palo Alto office three days a week. Salary Range: $90,000.00 to $165,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
