Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Interpreter to join our team in all 50 states. As an Interpreter, you will play a crucial role in facilitating communication between individuals who speak different languages or use sign language. Your primary responsibility will be to accurately interpret and translate spoken or signed language to ensure clear understanding between parties.
Responsibilities:
- Interpret conversations, speeches, meetings, and other interactions in real-time.
- Translate written documents, such as reports, letters, and legal documents.
- Maintain confidentiality and impartiality while interpreting.
- Adapt communication to the cultural context of the audience.
- Provide interpretation services in various settings, including medical appointments, legal proceedings, conferences, and social service agencies.
- Utilize specialized vocabulary and understand nuances in both languages to convey the intended meaning accurately.
Skills:
- Proficiency in interpreting and translating languages.
- Multilingual or bilingual proficiency.
- Strong communication skills.
- Knowledge of linguistics and cultural differences.
- Familiarity with American Sign Language (ASL) is a plus.
- Ability to work under pressure in fast-paced environments.
- Excellent listening and concentration skills.
