Job Description: The EL Coordinator/Teacher supports the broad EL program on their campus. They are responsible for administering the AZELLA (including training and preparation), managing caseloads, supporting EL teams and their needs, as well as managing students programing entry and exit data. In the teaching function, they create lesson plans that target specific ELP standards based on the student's proficiency level and grade level and monitor their progress to promote their language acquisition and align with all required instructional minutes per state guidelines.
Duties & Responsibilities: - Attend meetings with parents, ELT, general education teacher, and PEA for student programming.
- Participate in professional development opportunities at the Phoenix Home Office
- Track and integrate student AZELLA results into instruction
- Administer AZELLA (including training and preparation)
- Enter and exit EL students from PowerSchool
- Maintain the EL Caseload
- Support HM in maintaining lists of SEI trained teachers
- Design lesson plans for integrated and targeted to ensure compliance is being met
- Support campus during audits
- Attend grade- or subject-level meetings to help plan integrated EL instruction
- Collaborate with grade-level teachers to determine students' strengths and weaknesses for lesson planning
- Monitor students' progress through quarterly reports
- Create and maintain a schedule for targeted instruction time with PEA and grade-level teachers
- Collaborate with grade-level teachers to identify and implement any accommodations necessary for the student to access the curriculum
- Participate in professional development opportunities at the Phoenix Home Office
Requirements: - Candidates must hold at least a bachelor's degree and a valid Arizona teaching certification, with an SEI or EL Endorsement or the equivalent SEI or EL training, if not certificated.
- Minimum of 1 year of EL experience; 3 years preferred
- Candidates must be proficient in the use of technology.

Additional Requirements: Type of fingerprint clearance: Must possess or obtain valid Arizona Department of Public Safety IVP fingerprint clearance card.
Physical functions: Requires but is not limited to standing, sitting, repetitious hand and body movements, bending, squatting, and reaching. May be required to move or position equipment up to 15 pounds approximately.
Travel required: May need to travel locally to the various academies within the Phoenix metro area.
