Position Title: Payroll Associate
Reports To: Supervisor, Payroll

Position Summary
The Payroll Associate is a member of a fast-paced corporate payroll department that provides exceptional customer service to employees, management, and others. This position supports the Payroll Supervisor and other team members with the timely and accurate processing of payrolls. Strong attention to detail and troubleshooting skills along with tact and the ability to handle sensitive pay information in a confidential nature are essential to the position.
Responsibilities and Required Skills
Maintain employee time and attendance records and interacting with employees and supervisors on information reported.
Accurate calculation of wages and reimbursements for multi-state payrolls.
Ensure that federal, state, and other taxes are properly withheld and reported.
Accurately process contributions for 401k’s, insurance, and other employee related benefits and deductions
Ensure involuntary deductions such as garnishments, tax liens, child support orders, etc. are properly processed.
Process inbound/outbound integrations.
Review and reconcile payroll results.
Respond to employees’ questions regarding pay in a timely and professional manner.
Participate in the reconciliation process of period, quarterly, and year end records.
Maintain accurate records and respond to information requests from management, auditors, and others.
Participate in software conversions and upgrades as well as other assigned special projects and duties.
Serve as back up to other payroll associates.
Support LLS’ Quality Management System (QMS) to continually improve the Division’s processes, procedures, and services; and thereby increase efficiency, productivity, effectiveness, and customer satisfaction.
The minimum and maximum full-time hourly rate for this role is listed below. Please note that this hourly rate information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within this location. Experience and education refers to LanguageLine Solutions’ current hourly range for this position. US CA Monterey Headquarters (Hybrid) and US (Remote) hourly rate is $28.00 USD.
The actual hourly amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
Qualifications
Minimum of 1-2 years of payroll experience.
FCP accreditation preferred.
Associate degree in accounting or related field preferred.
Knowledge of payroll software programs; ADP and/or Workday experience preferred.
Competency with Excel and other Microsoft products.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
