About
I have eight years of OPI and VRI interpretation experience and one year of experience working with attorneys and forensic psychologists. The language pairs I work with are Hindi and English, and Bengali and English.
My work has included:
- Assisting attorneys and clients in cases where Indian clients filed claims against U.S. companies after being sent to war zones in Afghanistan and Iraq. Many of these men and women returned with serious mental and physical harm, including PTSD.
- Working with forensic psychologists to verify PTSD claims, ensuring accurate communication between clients and medical professionals.
- Helping attorneys prepare their clients for medical examinations and depositions, explaining the process, and supporting them during depositions.
- Assisting clients in understanding legal settlements, including financial terms and conditions for accepting compensation.
- Interpreting in human trafficking and immigration-related contexts, including sessions with professionals specializing in immigration cases.
- Supporting physical therapists and medical professionals to ensure patients fully understood their treatment plans.
- Handling sensitive cases, including matters involving human trafficking, sexual harassment and trauma, where understanding and clearly communicating issues of consent, confidentiality, and emotional well-being was essential.
