About
My name is Angie Yeji, a professional Korean interpreter.
I have been working as a professional interpreter in the NY area for the past 10 years, including various public events, courts, government and business related fields, such as NYS Department of Education, NYS Department of Finance, IRS, etc.
Especially, since 2017, I obtained the ICE background check clearance to work in the U.S. federal immigration courts - The Executive Office of Chief Immigration Review - under U.S, Department of Justice, throughout many states. During these unique experiences in the courtrooms, I have simultaneously translated the testimony in real-time about the asylum applications, communicating them to the immigration judges. Many of the cases were about the hardships of the religious prosecutions of the underground churches as well as the North Korean refugees escaping the horrible human rights situations in the North Korea, and China.
I hope my skill sets and experiences might be a positive talent to be able to contribute to your meaningful event.
