About
I have been working as a freelance localizer and proofreader since late 2017.
During these years, I have mainly worked in the localization field, specifically regarding:
• Social networks: both online and offline contents, UIs for Android and iOS, support articles, privacy policies, terms of use, prohibited contents and forbidden language, localization of still and animated images and stickers, subtitles for videos, localization of memes and similar content, release notes
• Software and app strings (both for mobile and desktop)
• Marketing/advertising/business contents: web advertising and web marketing products, companies’ and clients’ success stories, guides and support for advertisers, companies and publishers, advertising and marketing tools, business decks and PPTs; furthermore, I am Marketing Language Lead for one of the clients I work with
• Blog posts about digital tools for businesses: data management, CDPs, CRMs, DMPs, customer service KPIs, chatbots, CPaaS providers, electronic and digital signatures, omnichannel communication, conversational commerce, landing pages, customer stories and other digital tools
• Websites for different companies
Furthermore, I have worked with technical texts (manuals and instructions for different products, industry automation and medical devices), e-commerce contents (generic) and catalogues (specifically in the construction industry).
As regards my education background, I have a bachelor’s degree in Linguistic and Cultural Mediation and a master’s degree in Translation and Cultural Mediation.
Back in 2017, I started my first collaborations with agencies and private companies and began to attend several training courses to deepen and improve my knowledge in the field. I have attended courses and webinars on technical translation, localization, website localization, marketing for translators, and pharmaceutical translation.
Moreover, as I often work with software and UIs, some months ago I completed a workshop on HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript (SheCodes Basics). I am currently attending a training course on the basics of ML and AI financed by Confindustria Veneto SIAV (STEM byte - STEM in Touch).
During these years, I have had the chance to work with several CAT tools and translation-related software, both online and offline. These tools include SDL Trados Studio and Passolo, Phrase (Memsource), XTM, memoQ, Translation Workspace and ApSIC Xbench. Moreover, I have also worked with a CMS developed by one of my clients.
