About

I have been working as a translator for over 20 years. As a native speaker of both English and Spanish, and fluent in Portuguese and Greek, I bring a lifelong passion for languages to my work. Since 2022, I have been an ATA-certified translator (Spanish ↔ English), and I am currently the only ATA-certified translator in Chile who is a native English speaker.

My career includes continuous freelance work since 2010, notably with Latino Australia Education, where I have supported students in applying for university programs and visas to Australia, as well as to the US. From 2018 to 2023, I served as Translations Project Manager for Chile Travel, Chile's national tourism board, where I translated and managed the English version of the Chile Travel website, their social media accounts, and the travel blog, as well as copywriting and authoring articles for the blog. At the same time, I was responsible for overseeing a team of translators for four additional languages. In 2024, as Assistant Editor of Seed World Latam, I was responsible for translating editorial content and advertising from Spanish to English within the seed and agriculture industry.

Through my brand Crosscultural.cl, I specialize in translations with a cultural intelligence approach, applying insights from my Master’s in Crosscultural Communication (University of Sydney). I strongly believe that translation requires human skill and cultural understanding, especially in the era of AI. While technology can assist us, it cannot replace the unique value of human translators in interpreting culture, humor, informal language, and the subtleties of communication that are essential to high-quality translation.
