Joy Axelson has been a French translator and French teacher since 1996. With a BA and an MA in French, Joy has translated Scholastic books, international community health information, and classified US government data. A native speaker of American English and a published author of poetry and nonfiction, Joy is able to create French into English translations that do not sound like translations at all. She is certified by the ATA to translate any document into English from French. Joy frequently grades translation exams into French and English for a longtime client. Joy has lived in France and speaks French French (not Canadian French). Joy has visited Québec and obviously understands standard Canadian French. However, her forte is the translation/interpretation of European French. She is also familiar with francophone Africa and the Caribbean.
