I am Layla Hatem, a highly motivated 4th-year Al-Alsun student at Misr International University, minoring in Translation with a GPA of 3.15. I have developed a strong foundation in translation, subtitling, interpreting, and editing, and I’m passionate about literature and language. Throughout my academic and professional journey, I’ve gained hands-on experience through various roles, including freelance subtitle translator for TED, English tutor assistant, summer intern at CIB and EGBANK, and translation intern at Arabize. I’ve also worked in education and event coordination, serving as a summer camp English teacher and as part of the admissions and PR teams at MIU and ASCC. My technical skills include SDL Trados, Subtitle Edit, Microsoft Office, Canva, and AI tools like Leonardo AI and Luma Lab. Fluent in Arabic and English, with intermediate French and basic Spanish, I bring strong communication, leadership, problem-solving, and public speaking abilities to every role I take on.
