About

My name is Luisa Magni and I am an Italian freelance translator with a professional knowledge of English, French and Russian.
I was born in Florence, Italy, but I am currently living in Edinburgh, UK – I will be back to Florence in around 1 year, but at the moment I'm enjoying this beautiful city that completely stole my heart!

I have been performing translations, MTPE and proofreading for +7 years, specializing in the following fields: e-commerce, legal, tourism, localization.
I am also deeply passionate about literary translation – for my Master’s Degree thesis, I translated from scratch a Russian novel into Italian and I won a translation competition with my French to Italian translation of a children’s book.
I have also worked as Translation Project Manager and In-House Translator for 4 years for an Italian translation agency. Such experience helped me become responsible about the quality and the timing of all my works.

Speaking about personal life: I love cats (I have a lovely Bengal cat called Merlin, because he's magical!), fresh air and moving my body - at the gym, walking around the city, hiking.
I grew up with Harry Potter, which makes me believe magic can be found in everything!
