Greetings! My name is Pedro Diaz, originally from the vibrant border city of El Paso, Texas. I now find myself immersed in the beauty of the Atlantic coast of Ubatuba, São Paulo. My passion lies in communication, where language is just one part of the puzzle. To interpret accurately, I also consider geography, attitudes, and beliefs. Often, when words don’t have a direct equivalent in another language, I step in as a cultural broker to ensure the context and meaning are conveyed with empathy and precision.
I’m an independent Spanish conference interpreter, proficient in medical, judicial, and corporate settings, and skilled in both simultaneous and consecutive interpretation. My journey began in 2016 with interpreting general insurance and banking claims, while during night shifts, I handled 311 and 911 emergency calls. For career growth, I transitioned to interpreting for the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), working closely with asylum officers.
Fast-forward to 2023, and I am a proud freelance conference interpreter and medical interpreter. I bring years of experience and cultural understanding to every assignment.
