About
Hi! My name is Sebastián and I have been walking the way of the freelancer providing translation, localization, transcreation, LQA and proofreading services for +18 years (yeah, uninterrupted since 2006). All the experience I have gained allowed me to become a connoisseur in a wide range of fields, particularly those dealing with IT, computing, HW/SW marketing material, machinery, literary and technical subjects, what drives me to always be on the lookout for new challenges and experiences in games, apps, websites, tech, publicity campaigns and all sorts of projects requiring my expertise. Both by job opportunities and to keep my creative and transcreational side alive, I delight in mixing my technical and literature skills whenever I get the chance.
As regards continuous education, I am constantly taking different intensive translation and localization courses to enlarge my areas of expertise, for example, in the Traduversia and Juan Macarlupu platforms. Likewise, after completing the International Proofreader for Spanish Texts career (Corrector internacional de textos en español) in 2010, I started correcting texts professionally adding value to final products as well as enriching my translation quality. In 2020, I got my Master Degree in New Technologies Applied to Translation (Máster en Nuevas tecnologías aplicadas a la traducción) in ISTRAD (Spain), a major achievement which helped me boost my professional localization, translation, subtitling, gaming and software skills to widen and expand my working horizons.
My work experience includes 7 years as Lead Translator for AMD in LATAM with +6K projects related to e-learning webinars, gaming-related content, software UI strings, CPU, GPU, chipset and hardware technical specs, marketing campaigns, video scripts, articles and emails for internal distribution, web content, quick reference guides, social banners, etc. I have also been responsible for QAing and approving master nomenclature spreedsheets, glossaries, guidelines from various clients and served as in-context reviewer (LQA) of online interactive courses and webinars to guarantee both its linguistic and functional dimensions are correct, always keeping two-way, continuous feedback with PMs, translators and other linguistic resources.
