About
I work primarily as an English>Hindi translator, but I have also some experience as a Hindi>English translator, English<>Marathi translator and Hindi<>Marathi translator over the course of my seven-year career. I have also done a few voice-overs in English and Hindi. I have independently handled lexical curation of Hindi and Marathi data which also involved communication and interaction with the client to a great extent.
I describe myself as a language lover and enthusiast with a keenness to convey the exact intended meaning in the target language. I am always willing to walk the extra mile in my pursuit of providing the best service.
Apart from translation, Phonetics and Phonology, Morphology and Syntax are my areas of interest. I find myself excellent in IPA or phonetic transcription and morphological and semantic analysis. Handling of the lexical curation project has also given me a chance to dig deeper into the rules governing transliteration of English words into Hindi/Marathi and vice versa, thereby helping me acquire sound knowledge of the same. I would most certainly love to explore projects in all these areas in the near future.
I find myself as a quality-oriented and result-driven passionate language professional who finds logic in the taken-for-granted components of language like pronunciation, spellings, grammar, word formation processes and meaning which I think set me apart from other language experts thus making me an important asset to the language industry. This analytical and logical reasoning ability helps me delve deeper into the nuances and the functioning of the languages that I know, understanding and appreciating the beauty of the language components from a totally new perspective and at the same time helping those around me do the same. An eye for perfection and attention to detail are some of my key qualities.
My aim is to make effective contributions to the language domain by making optimum use of my knowledge and skills so that the highest level of proficiency is achieved.
