SUMMARY
Responsible for the evaluation and treatment of students with language-based learning disabilities. Develop and implement appropriate speech-language treatment plans, including goals and objectives that meet the needs of each individual. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct comprehensive speech-language evaluations and meet with families to review results and recommendations
- Develop and implement speech-language pathology treatment plans that meet the specific needs of each individual
- Provide multi-modal instruction whenever possible taking into consideration individual strengths and weaknesses to allow every person the opportunity to reach their full potential
- Evaluate progress of students under your care and communicate this to parents and caregivers through phone calls, notes, parent-teacher conferences, and progress reports on a timely basis
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary team including teachers, counselors, school administrators, medical providers, etc.
- Collaborate with Groves Diagnostics Team by reviewing and interpreting psychoeducational and speech-language assessment results to inform plans of care
- Continue to develop professional knowledge of speech-language pathology, learning disabilities, ADHD and other areas of diagnoses relative to clients who exhibit communication disorders through attendance at conferences, workshops, in-service meetings, and reading professional journals
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Communicate with faculty, staff, leadership, administration, community members, and students in person, by phone, e-mail and in writing. Respond to all inquiries within one to two business days.
- Complete professional projects and complete various professional tasks as needed
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Education, Experience and Credentials
- Open to clinical fellows
- Masters Degree in Communication Sciences & Disorders
- CCC - Certificate of Clinical Competence (not applicable to clinical fellowship)
- Current Minnesota Speech-Language Pathology License (Dept of Education and/or Dept of Health)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The employee must be able to:
- Hear, speak and communicate effectively in the English language, including following oral and written instructions, in order to communicate with people inside and outside the organization.
- Sit at a desk for extended periods of time and perform long hours of work sitting at a computer.
- Apply manual dexterity and visual acuity for computer keyboarding and office equipment use and to review detailed reports and information.
- Move around the school and office area repeatedly throughout the day.

The work environment is indoors.
