Our collaborator is a quality accredited translation agency based in Girona, Spain. They are specializing in the translation of technical, scientific and business documentation. Their clients include multinational companies operating in sectors such as Engineering, Biotechnology, Pharmaceuticals, Marketing, Chemicals, and Manufacturing.
The company offers internship opportunities for undergraduates who are studying translation and would like to gain experience working in a translation agency. You will obtain first-class training and gain important language and project management experience. It provides a clear insight into all aspects of the world of professional translation. The training will prove to be invaluable for your personal career development as a future project manager or freelance translator.
Tasks
- Documentation management of the documents that will be machine-translated
- To apply suitable machine translation software to automatically translate client’s documents.
- To post edit the machine-translated texts in English. Review for any mistranslations and spelling errors.
Requirements
- Undergraduate: suitable disciplines would be; Translation, Languages, Literature
- C2 in English
- Dutch or Flemish C2
- High literacy level in order to make corrections to the English texts
- Well organized
- IT proficient
- Attention to details is imperative
- Full and comprehensive training would be provided
Benefits
- The student will have an official work contract with McFelder during the placement period
- Salary of 430€ (minus 2% Spanish tax, legal requirement by Spanish Law)
