Localization Specialist m/w/d

The (Freelance) Localization Specialist is responsible for supporting Bluebeam's brand and solutions for customers around the world by supporting Linguistic/Localization Quality Assurance and multimedia projects. Working in close collaboration with the Localization Manager and the Localization Team, the localization specialist collaborates with internal project teams and stakeholders, in-country reviewers, external language service providers, and other business partners to meet regional expectations and standards by delivering projects on time and on budget while meeting high quality standards.
About the Role:
- Under the direction and supervision of the Localization Team, assist in planning, management, monitoring and controlling the execution of localization projects.
- Facilitate the definition of project objectives, constraints, and dependencies; identify assets and deliverables; and create project schedules.
- Communicate with linguists to resolve translation errors and implement improvements to terminology and style.
- Assist in Localization Quality Assurance testing efforts by assessing linguistic and functional feedback and coordinating its implementation.
- Foster relationships with third-party vendors including language service providers and in-country reviewers.
About You:
- Familiarity with internationalization and localization principles and best practices.
- Incredible organizational skills, keen attention to detail, and an excellent written and verbal communication skill set.
- Solid understanding and appreciation for localization processes as they apply to a variety of assets and content.
- Experience collaborating with international teams, outside agencies, vendors, and reviewers. Ability and willingness to be a self-starter, owning and prioritizing multiple tasks with an emphasis on meeting deadlines and communicating well in a team environment.
- Familiarity with, and/or eagerness to learn and gain experience with translation management systems and computer-aided translations (CAT) tools, Linguistic/Localization Quality Assurance (LQA) testing methodologies and best practices, desktop publishing systems, content management systems, Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, Atlassian tools, Smartsheet.
- Experience and familiarity managing the localization of multimedia assets and projects (not limited to gifs, animation, video, subtitling, audio).
- 1-2 years localization experience, either LSP or client-side, including localization of print, multimedia, mobile, web, and other assets and content.
- Fluency in one or more languages other than English a plus.
- Experience with products and services launched internationally.

Base pay offered will depend upon qualifications and other operational considerations. Base pay is one part of Bluebeam’s Total Rewards program, which seeks to compensate and recognize employees for their work. Most sales positions are eligible for commission under the terms of an applicable commission plan, while most non-sales positions are eligible for a bonus under the terms of an applicable bonus plan.
