The Role:
This role will have an overview of the work being produced on a day to day basis, ensuring we are working smartly and efficiently by maximising capacity, working closely with Client Services to deliver and make sure the Localisation business runs smoothly.
Your role and responsibilities will vary according to the needs of the business, but will include;
Line management:
- Line management of the team leaders across the departments in Localisation.
General:
- Own and manage the day-to-day production of localisation work being scheduled via CETA, ensuring smooth workflows, timely delivery and a high level of quality is maintained across all of our Localisation, Sony Domestic and Trailers work
- Regular communication with the Client Services (CS) team to understand priorities, delivery deadlines and team capacity
- Instigate meetings with CS throughout the day if needed (i.e morning, afternoon, EOP) to organise priorities and schedule work with the team accordingly during the busy periods. Working in tandem with the Head of Client Services and Head of Trailers
- Support Client Services with technical client queries
- Take the lead on new business production workflows to ensure we successfully onboard the client/territory
- Build a strong relationship with the teams to ensure we have good morale and the team feel valued. Be a conduit for localisation operational staff to feedback any concerns and recommendations.
- Ensuring that DMS internal production procedures are kept up to date by team leads and are available for staff to reference easily
- Ensuring staff are adhering to the departmental procedures and workflows
- Ensuring that our security procedures are being adhered to including briefing staff
- Recommending new procedures and workflows to increase productivity within the department.
- Oversee recruitment of new staff, led by team leaders.
- Line manage team leads.
- Oversee and review hardware/software used in production and work with the Head of IT and Director of Operations to ensure any issues are resolve in a timely manner and improvements are explored and improvements made within budget allowed.
- Keeping up to date with technological advancements to enhance production efficiencies with a focus on automation within localisation post-production
Training:
- Ensure we have up to date training records and schedules for new joiners and existing teams.
- Ensure team leads are training and cross training teams to enable us to deliver efficiently and on time, with training carried out to a high standard.
- Ensure teams are cross trained and able to work on all areas of the business so employees are flexible and can work where the workflows are highest to help with peaks and troughs across the areas of the business, Trailers, Localisation and Domestic.
Efficiencies:
- Create and own capacity trackers to ensure the Localisation Operations are run efficiently and to budget cost
- Investigate efficiencies reports to assess if new procedures, workflows or additional training is required
- Ensure that any efficiency recommendations are implemented
- Be an escalation point for production issues.
- Review staff performance with the senior line managers, raise staff performance issue with the Director of Operations/HR
- Oversee Shift Rotas and Capacity Planning for the department is in place and running efficiently
- Oversee that desk space, equipment and software are available for all resources
- Ensure we have resources in place for Premieres and event POL distribution
- Manage resource with department leads to ensure shift cover for peak periods, staff holidays, Bank Holidays, and Christmas/New year
- Manage overtime budget
Reporting:
- Weekly catch ups with Director of Operations/Managing Director
- Efficiency and Capacity Reporting
- Regular meetings with HR and Managing Director on Capacity and budgeted department cost/OT review
- Ad hoc reporting for board packs and other projects as required by the business
- As and when required when running projects
Requirements

- Expert understanding of the Technical aspects of running a Post Production operations or similar
- Prior experience of managing teams and departments in multiple locations
- A film buff with an active interest in the industry and its future trends
- More than 5 years' industry related experience
- Experience working with online and broadcast video formats
- Excellent organisational skills
- Good communication, both verbal and written
- A technical understanding of video and audio signals and broadcast standards
- Problem-solving
- Good attention to detail
- Ability to work at speed during periods of high urgency
- Ability to build and maintain professional working relationships with multiple stakeholders
- Willingness to go the extra mile
