Junior Language Quality Project Manager - Europe
The Junior Language Quality Project Manager will be involved in training, monitoring and supporting a virtual team of lead linguists, defining processes, running language quality initiatives and interfacing with the client POCs.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- Ensure the client receives superior standards of language quality management and customer service at all times
- Deliver all projects, requests and tasks on time and within budget in accordance with client requirements
- Monitor on-time deliveries and ensure successful completion of linguists’ tasks
- Budget monitoring – monitor time allocation, time spent, logged time etc.
- Provide training to the linguists (on tools, processes, responsibilities etc.)
- Manage the linguist community, monitor their performance, supervise them, identify where correction is needed and follow up accordingly
- Monitor quality and production data to ensure quality standards are met and to analyse and apply appropriate quality improvement measures
- Provide support, advice, guidance to the linguists in their daily tasks
- Ensure consistency across the program, suggest and share best practices
- Initiate process improvements, develop the program further
- Provide support and partnership to the program counterpart on the client’s side
- Interact, communicate and collaborate with various stakeholders - regular meetings, sync-up calls, status updates etc.
- Work with the various stakeholders on quality improvement initiatives
- Status reporting customised to the client’s needs
- Formulate RCA documents and proposed improvement plans when needed
- Run/assist with running project kick-offs and post-project analysis initiatives
- Central handling of queries and support requests
Requirements:
- Degree or Masters in Translation, Business or relevant field
- A minimum of 2 years of project / language quality management experience working in Localization
- Experience managing a team of onsite and/or offsite linguists
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Problem solver with excellent planning and organisational skills
- Excellent attention to detail and customer service skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a deadline-driven environment
- Excellent financial awareness, enthusiastic and hard working
- Fluent English
Advantageous:
- A minimum of 1 other language
- Knowledge of standard CAT packages (Trados, SDLX, Catalyst etc)
- Knowledge of and experience with different language quality management workflows
- Knowledge of CMS systems
- Advanced knowledge of spreadsheets (formulas, macros, etc.).
