Our client, a global beauty / CPG retail brand, is looking for a freelance Technical Writer to join their team 40 hours per week, ONSITE at either their Boston MA or Stamford CT offices (non negotiable).
The Freelance Technical Writer Will
- lead their global content localization strategy, focusing on ensuring clarity, compliance, and usability of all product documentation across international markets
- streamline processes, leverage technology, and establish best practices in a complex global organization
- drive efficiency through the reuse of existing documentation and the innovative application of AI-powered translation tools, while ensuring stringent adherence to regional compliance standards
- own the end-to-end creation, localization, and delivery of core product documentation globally, including instruction manuals, warranty guides, and quick-start sheets
- manage documentation and coordination for mandatory global safety icons and labeling requirements (e.g., UL, CE, ETL, DOE, UKCA, etc.), working closely with the Global Compliance team
The Freelance Technical Writer Has
- ideally 4+ years of experience in technical writing and proven experience managing localization workflows and technical documentation in a global product environment
- familiarity with international compliance and safety standards (UL, CE, ETL, etc.).
- experience implementing or managing AI/Machine Translation tools and Translation Management Systems (TMS)
- strong project management skills and the ability to drive initiatives across complex, matrixed organizations
- excellent communication skills and a strategic mindset focused on process improvement and efficiency
- ability to work onsite at one of their two offices, ideally 5 days per week
In this position, you may have access to client or customer systems, confidential and/or proprietary information or data. This position is onsite and requires you to work closely with other individuals in a collaborative team environment.
