Our client, a very well-known global fitness brand, is currently seeking a freelance French Canadian Language Specialist with Dubbing and Translation experience to join their team.
Please note, this is a remote role, starting off at about 20hrs/week for about a year, with some potential to expand based on performance and business need.
Responsibilities:
- Join a team of 4 to work along side some other contractors on localization efforts as the brand expands into Canada
- Work on captioning and subtitling scripts, class descriptions etc for French Canadian translations and dubbing efforts
- Provide QA support for all work, help pass along feedback to engineers
- Review and edit dubbing: Critically listen to dubbed audio to identify and correct errors in pronunciation, intonation, pacing, and overall naturalness.
- Synchronization and timing: Ensure accurate synchronization of the dubbed audio with the original video content, making necessary adjustments to timing and pacing
- Linguistic accuracy and cultural nuances: Verify the linguistic accuracy of the dubbing script and audio, ensuring it accurately reflects the meaning and intent of the original dialogue while considering cultural nuances
- Audio Quality Control: Ensure the technical quality of the dubbed audio, including levels, clarity, and consistency. Identify and address any audio artifacts or technical issues
Requirements:
- Canadian French native speaker with advanced knowledge of grammar, syntax, idioms and slang
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- 3+ years Proven experience in audio editing, post-production, and/or studio or AI dubbing
- Excellent ear for detail and a critical listening ability.
- Strong understanding of Canadian French linguistics, translation principles and cultural adaptation.
- Experience working with timecode and synchronization techniques.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- A proactive and problem-solving attitude.
- Passion for language, media, and technology, with a keen interest in the capabilities and limitations of voice AI
