PALS for Health is a non-profit healthcare interpreting, translating and training program serving limited English proficient individuals living in Los Angeles and Orange County as well as the Inland Empire.
PALS for Health is a looking for qualified individuals to provide in-person interpretation and document translation services in the greater Los Angeles area and surrounding counties who are fluent in English and of the following language:
Korean
Vietnamese
Chinese (Mandarin/Cantonese)
Arabic
Armenian
Prerequisites: Applicants must successfully pass a proficiency test and complete a 40 hour healthcare interpreter training or equivalent (interpreters only). Translators require at least 2 years experience, language certified/ATA certification or equivalent. Reliable transportation and willingness to travel within LA County and surrounding counties. Proof of vaccination and negative COVID test prior to first assignment.
Rate: Competitive
Desired qualifications:
Minimum 2 to 5 years previous interpreting or translating experience
Active Business License or Business Tax Registration Certificate as Independent Interpreter/Translator
Carry General Professional Liability Insurance
Previous specialized training
CCHI or NBCMI language certification completed or in process (interpreters only)
ATA certification or equivalent (translators only)
A combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of formal interpretation or translation training'
