Summary
This role sits at the center of advanced surgical technology, bringing together imaging, software, hardware, and navigation systems to create next generation guidance platforms powered by AR and AI.
The Senior Systems Engineer leads system integration, manages technical requirements, and ensures complex technologies work together safely and reliably.
The ideal candidate thrives in early stage innovation, communicates clearly across technical and non technical teams, and focuses on execution while removing barriers across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead system integration of hardware and software components from requirements through testing
• Develop and manage system requirements for advanced AR, VR, and AI enabled platforms
• Work with engineering teams to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve integration challenges
• Support risk management and ensure appropriate controls are defined and documented
• Maintain documentation and processes in compliance with FDA design control standards
• Collaborate with cross functional teams to advance product architecture across hardware, software, and infrastructure
• Develop and execute system integration testing to validate functionality, performance, and safety
• Support system verification and validation activities
Qualifications
Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or similar field preferred
• 5+ years of systems engineering experience in medical devices or other regulated industries
• Experience with requirements management, design controls, documentation, and medical product lifecycle
• Familiarity with technologies such as medical imaging, DICOM, C#, Unity, and Visual Studio
• Experience with VR, MR, AR, or AI technologies is a plus
Technical Skills
• Experience working with medical imaging systems such as CT, MRI, or Ultrasound preferred
• Familiarity with navigation and localization technologies including electromagnetic, electro potential, or optical systems
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and general computing tools
Other Requirements
• Valid driver’s license required
• Ability to travel 50–70% including overnight travel
• Comfortable working in a fast paced startup environment with evolving priorities
