About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Product Manager with deep expertise in modern localization and language technologies to support the evolution of our content and translation ecosystem.
This role is designed for a specialist who can quickly assess our current localization architecture, evaluate modern Machine Translation and AI-driven solutions, and guide our Business and Engineering teams toward the right technology decisions and implementation approach for Client’s scale.
You will work hands-on with cross-functional partners to analyze existing workflows, identify opportunities for automation and modernization, and help define how emerging language technologies (MT, LLMs, post-editing frameworks, quality evaluation methods) can be effectively integrated into orchestration platforms and Client’s retail content systems.
Responsibilities
- Assess client’s current legacy localization and content workflow architecture and identify modernization opportunities.
- Evaluate emerging MT, LLM, and localization platforms and recommend how they can fit within Client’s ecosystem.
- Guide Business and Engineering teams through buy vs. build vs. hybrid technology decisions.
- Architect end-to-end technology solutions for content management and localization, designing a more efficient, automated future state for global content distribution.
- Establish and evangelize the product roadmap for our portfolio of content management systems and localization tools. Align this roadmap with business goals, user needs, and engineering priorities to reduce time-to-market for global content.
- Lead the exploration and validation of new language translation technologies. Assess tools that offer better orchestration, visual context for translators, and seamless integration with our upstream content repositories.
- Lead project execution through the entire lifecycle, ensuring coordination of funding, release schedules, project status, issue resolution, and quality standards are met.
- Collaborate with Business teams, Engineering, and UI/UX to lead design reviews, feature prioritization, and scope negotiation to meet release schedules and deliver measurable business value.
- Author clear and detailed requirements, epics, and user stories that translate business needs into actionable direction for engineering and design teams to build new software.
- Serve as a subject matter expert and advisor on language technologies throughout the engagement, understanding the intricate connections between platforms to identify dependencies and unlock new capabilities.
About You
- 5+ years of experience in localization technology, language engineering, or product/technology management in this domain.
- Deep knowledge of the localization technology landscape, including TMS platforms, CAT tools, and translation solutions.
- Strong understanding of Neural Machine Translation (NMT), Large Language Models (LLMs) for translation and adaptation, post-editing practices, and translation quality evaluation tools and methodologies (MQM, BLEU, human evaluation frameworks).
- Experience evaluating and comparing translation technology vendors and guiding buy vs. build vs. hybrid decisions in enterprise environments. Demonstrated ability to migrate to modern, cloud-native localization platforms is highly preferred.
- Experience with content management platforms (ex: Adobe Experience Manager) and the content production lifecycle, specifically in the context of content translation and localization. Experience connecting CMS platforms to translation and MT providers through APIs and orchestration layers.
- Experience modernizing legacy localization workflows and migrating toward a service-based architecture.
- Proven track record of analyzing and designing automated content workflows that reduce manual handling and improve translation leverage.
- Demonstrated ability to work with partners to clarify business problems, identify process/user experience improvement opportunities, and represent business interests during the design and development of technology solutions.
- Expertise writing detailed business requirements and user stories intended for software engineering and UI/UX design, with a proven track record of shipping localization / translation management, content management or enterprise-grade tools.
- Success collaborating with software engineering partners to reduce technical debt, introduce new technologies, and migrate to new architectures within a complex enterprise landscape.
- Experience planning, managing, and leading sophisticated technology projects, guiding teams through ambiguity and issue resolution throughout the entire development lifecycle.
- Excellent meeting facilitation, and strong written, verbal, and presentation abilities, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to business stakeholders.
- Deep experience with Agile development methodologies; proficiency in using JIRA/Confluence to manage a backlog, prioritize work into Epics and User Stories, and write clear Acceptance Criteria.
