Autonomy Project Manager, Lead
Key Role:
Manages all aspects of product engineering activities including hardware, software, automation, and IT. Applies leading-edge principles, theories, and concepts. Contributes to the development of new principles and concepts. Works on unusually complex problems and provides highly innovative solutions. Operates with substantial latitude for unreviewed action or decision. Mentors or supervises employees in both firm and technical competencies. Leads a team of Autonomy Engineers developing new capabilities to support the DoD and Warfighter. Leads the development of client relationships, business opportunities, and capture strategies for U.S. Government clients. Manages all aspects of engineering activities, including autonomy stacks, robotic behaviors, modeling and simulation, and autonomous system principles. Guides the work of less experienced engineers to deliver new products and autonomy capabilities on schedule and budget. Applies leading-edge principles, theories, and concepts.
Basic Qualifications:
5+ years of experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams, including solutioning, planning and scheduling, staffing, task delegation and review, project financial management, and participation in project management reviews
3+ years of experience leading proposal writing and business development for U.S. Government clients
3+ years of experience in developing new technical solutions to address customer challenges
Experience developing customer or market engagement and capture strategies.
Ability to effectively communicate complex technical topics to a variety of audiences in written and verbal formats
Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Physics
Additional Qualifications:
5+ years of experience developing embedded or backend software applications using C/C++
Experience developing autonomous systems using robotics or autonomy middleware, such as ROS or ROS2
Experience with customer relationship management (CRM)
Experience leading scrums for engineering projects
Ability to provide algorithms and software support for mobile robot sensing, perception, localization, navigation, and behaviors in aerial or ground domains
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Physics

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $96,600.00 to $220,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
