Job Summary
Language Without Boundaries was previously known as the Alliance Language Network and was established in 1996. LWB provides interpretation and translation services in over 70 languages for school districts, clinics, hospitals, legal entities, and other organizations. LWB is a social enterprise which generates funds and provides opportunity for our communities through contract based employment.
We are currently looking for both over the phone and Onsite US-Based Spanish, Burmese, ASL, Chinese Mandarin, Cantonese, Dinka, Khmer, Nepali, German, Turkish, Thai, Kinyarwanda, Telegu, Swahili, Vietnamese, Portuguese, Telegu Kinyarwanda, and Tamil interpreters. An Onsite Spanish interpreter will provide interpretation services in a variety of settings, including medical, education, empowering individuals to advocate for themselves and their needs.
Qualifications and competencies
- Effectively interpret between source language and target language.
- Adhere to guidelines for NCIHC Code of Ethics / Standards of Practice
- Accurately complete assigned tasks/duties, projects and paperwork promptly and within approved guidelines
- Possess the ability to quickly learn and implement new and changing technologies
- Possess the ability to work effectively in a fast paced, dynamic, highly regulated environment
- Demonstrate willingness and ability to complete additional duties and assignments on an on-going basis
- Proficient computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, email, electronic scheduling and internet
- Excellent written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team
