West Hartford Public Schools is seeking a part-time American Sign Language Interpreter. Must be available on Wednesdays from 1-4 pm with possible additional hours based on need. This is a district-wide position that may require travel to different schools within the district.
Candidates must have experience working with Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing individuals with varying needs and modes of communication. Specialized training and willingness to participate in training in the use of assistive devices, amplification equipment, and language facilitator techniques in various forms of sign language/spoken language required.
This position is non-benefit eligible.
Duties include: Facilitating communication between teacher, peers, parents and students.
